Lohan Will Never Learn

Seriously LiLo, get. it. together.

Apparently she's filed an appeal for her prison sentence. The new court date is in May. And get this, her Community Service will begin at the morgue. I'm guessing her appearance on the Jay Leno Show was in the hopes of swaying future judges/jurors?

I truly hope she decides to make herself presentable for this court appearance. I don't think it helps her cause when she shows up looking hungover and like she just rolled out of bed.

And just for fun, here's Teen Mom, Jenell.

Jenelle Evans

Performing her civic duty. Note sure which arrest this stems from, but if I had to guess, I'd say this won't be the end of her rap sheet.

Royal Wannabe

When we were married in November, I walked down the aisle to Trumpet Voluntary. I'm sure many other brides have done the same. But, I cant help but feeling a bit nostalgic for our wedding every time I hear it, which has been a lot lately, due to all of the Royal Wedding coverage. Check it out here. Princess Diana walked down the (VERY long) aisle to the famed procession when she was wed to Prince Charles.

Check out that train! Perhaps Kate Middleton will follow in Lady Di's footsteps? There's been so much speculation about the day, I will be glad to finally have it all put to rest.

That being said, I am very much looking forward to all of tomorrow's coverage! I doubt I'll be up at 4am. But probably soon after, as we usually go to the gym before work.

Whether the naysayers want to admit it or not this is a historical and momentous event that's not to be missed.

Hungry

Someone decided to help themselves to my dinner tonight.

Guilty Party

Cooper is very sneaky. I turned my back for 5 seconds and GONE! He snatched every scrap of food off the plate. Selfish. I was too lazy to make myself an entire other meal. So, now I am really looking forward to breakfast in the morning.

Speaking of breakfast.......

Mmmmm, Donuts

Have I ever mentioned that I LOVE donuts (doughnuts? What's the proper spelling?)? I can and have eaten more than half a dozen in one sitting. Shameful, I know. I rarely indulge in these treats, but when I do, I clearly lose control.

Ok, must stop thinking about food.

On a side note, I finished Water For Elephants! In two days, no less! Yep, it was that good. I'm hoping to convince Mark to come see it with me this weekend. Fingers crossed!

Up next on my reading list:

I've heard many good things about this book. Has anyone read? Other suggested items to add to the list?

Acrylic Nails?

I am not a die hard MTV viewer, but I've noticed that on nearly every single episode of Teen Mom/16 & Pregnant ALL of the girls have elaborate airbrushed nails and/or a serious set of acrylics. This seems completely ridiculous to me. How is it that they: struggle to stay in school, care for a child, and battle with their significant other, all while maintaining meticulous manicures?

Last night, as I was switching back and forth between 'Pregnant In Heels' and '16 and Pregnant', I was thinking how incredibly different, yet eerily similar the people on these shows are. I think the main characteristic shared between them is their unrealistic expectations.

*This is not a recent photo. From my extensive googling, I couldn't find a definitive answer as to whether Rosie is currently pregnant or not. Although, I am crossing my fingers for her (and my girl, Giuliana Rancic!).

Summer Wants...

The warm, sunny weather this weekend gave all of us Charlestonians a taste of whats to come for the next several months. I've already purchased a few staple items for the springtime. Maybe it's just me, but I feel like there's very little actual "Spring" weather here. It usually goes from cold to hot in an instant.

Here are some things I've got my eye on for the summer time.

Rattan Tory Burch clutch

Tory Burch Rattan Flap Clutch

Bold print Nanette Lepore bikini

Adorable Milly cover up

Rebecca Taylor printed Maxi Dress

Rebecca Taylor Rose Print Silk Maxi Dress

*Let me clarify that it is certainly not in my budget to purchase a $400+ maxi dress. Or a $200 bikini, for that matter....

The TB clutch, on the other hand, I may have to create a fund for because I need it.

Easter

What a gorgeous weekend it's been. I'm sad for it to be over, but it has been lots of fun. Time spent with friends, sunny weather, good food, and drinks. What more could I ask for?

Mark pulled through, as expected, and had quite the spread of candy for me this morning: various types of chocolate eggs, gummi bears, malted milk balls, and a HUGE chocolate bunny!

Now for more relaxation, catching up on my new read, Water For Elephants, and RHOOC....

Happy Easter!

Working for the Weekend

Even though it's been a short work week for me, it seems to be really dragging on. Tomorrow night we're going to the Riverdogs game with friends.

And word is there's $1 admission and $1 beers for anyone who wears their Charleston Sports and Social Club team shirts. Speaking of which, our kickball season starts next Wednesday. I'm not much of an athlete, so to speak.

Shot of me in action least year.

Impressive? Right. Yes, I actually connected with the ball, but I can guarantee that someone on the opposing team caught it or I was too slow to make it to 1st in time. True story. Good thing I'm not very competitive (sorry, team!).

I hope to spend an afternoon at the beach this weekend and soak up some rays. Because this lady needs a little color. Badly. Self-tanner is great, but nothing replaces the real thing.

I used to be able to get this tan:

Miami University, circa 2005

Wowza. Check out those highlights. I think it's safe to say I will not be going back to blonde any time soon.
We were having some sort of 'fiesta' that night? Ah, college.

We had some CRAZY hailstorms in Charleston today! It was coming down so hard and fast (and out of nowhere). I hope these next few days bring nothing but sun :)

WILW

Is anyone else as addicted to these sites as I am? They're all so alluring with fantastic deals on designer/brand names! I (sadly) look forward to my regular emails from these sites to see what's in store for that day. I love a good deal and although I've had some unsuccessful orders recently, I keep coming back for more.

I'm also loving:

Even though some of their offers are not that appealing (to me at least).

Happy Wednesday! The work week is half over :)

Weekday Randoms

I was swamped at work today! So, I decided to reward myself with a nice little trip to Target :) Below are a few of my finds.

I'm really looking forward to reading 'Water For Elephants'. I was torn between this book and 'Cleopatra' (that will be my next read). Of course, I'm sure I'll be seeing the much anticipated film version starring Reese Witherspoon and Robert Pattinson. Can't wait to watch in him in a role opposite someone other than the habitually PO'd Kristen Stewart.

Oh, and in no way is the extent of my Easter candy shopping. No, no, no....there will be MUCH more! They didn't have any Cadbury Eggs. WTF? Get on it Target.

On a side note, I fell asleep at like 8:30 last night and didn't get to see Bethenny. I'm sure I'll be catching up later this week, but seriously 8pm bedtime? How old am I?!

Now, I did manage to see the RHOOC on Sunday, and can I just say, Gretchen, break up with Slade already! She clearly is not that into him. Why make all of us viewers suffer by having to watch him week after week?
And speaking of the Real Housewives, I just discovered this blog. Amazing inside dish on all things RH related!

I happened to stumble upon these gems when searching for more info on Alexis's clothing line

A bit much, no?
I'm going to cross my fingers that the line is successful because apparently the cash flow isn't too good these days. They're reportedly in foreclosure proceedings.

7 Random Facts

Thank you to my girl at Sundresses and Smiles for the award! If you haven't checked out her blog yet, hurry on over.

Onto the 7 random facts....

1. We have approximately 95 nicknames for our dog, Cooper. One of my favorites is baba ganoush (sp?). I'm not going to list anymore because they're just ridiculous.
2. I graduated from college with a degree in the History of Art & Architecture. That comes in really handy with my career. Not.
3. I can be very bossy. I'm not sure there's one person I know who would disagree (anyone?!).
4. When I was young, I used to roller skate in my basement to some may-jah Whitney Houston ballads. I aspired to be Nancy Kerrigan, pre-Tonya Harding incident.
5. I went to an all-girls high school. It's very much the norm in Cincinnati, but seems to be pretty rare here in Charleston.
6. Flying scares the hell out of me. I have serious travel anxiety. Hate it.
7. My younger sister, Alex, graduated with a history degree, as well and now has an awesome job with a jeweler.

I hope everyone has a FABULOUS weekend! I'll be busy celebrating Jaime & Andrew's nuptials on Saturday. Congrats you two!

Scatterbrained

I have several things I want to address in this post and none are related. My apologies for the random-ness.

First, another PSA for all of the Charleston area ladies! JBrand skinnies for $60 at TJMaxx/Marshall's in Mt. P. Naturally, they had nearly every single size but mine :( I also spotted some very cute tops from Joie (around $50) and a select few pairs of white Paige jeans. For me, these stores are usually a hit or miss. Today happened to produce some pretty good finds.

I also want to discuss the RHOOC's most recent episode. I thought what Gretchen did for her parent's anniversary was so thoughtful and sweet. It seemed even clearer this week that she has NO interest in marrying that loser, Slade.

Mr. Smiley and his original gf/fiance, whatever she was, Jo

Why did/do we continue to see so much of Tamra and Eddie? Literally, all they do is make out and call each other 'baby'. Woof. Time will tell if their relationship is real but I still believe that she is acting out in front of the cameras to spite her ex-husband, Simon.

Now, I just finished watch the season premiere of RHONY a few days ago and I have to say I was cringing at their behavior almost immediately. Alex is bold and dare I say, brash, in the scene(s) where she is confronting Jill, who, as I expected, has most definitely NOT learned her lesson from the whole Bethenny situation. I really don't like her and the fact that she believes herself to be 'so nice', is truly mind boggling. Kelly is just as delusional  and unaware as least season. So, no change there. Ramona is, well, Ramona. Although, I didn't like how she tried to stir the pot by not telling Jill that Alex was coming to the wedding. Luann seems happy with her new Euro boy-toy. Sonya, sonya, sonya. What is up with the headbands and super short dresses? She is a pretty lady, but I might suggest toning it down a bit.

Did anyone see Jill  and Ramona on WWHL (Watch What Happens Live) last week? The corset, the hair, the makeup, oh my!

Royal Wedding

With less than a month until the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton the media is going absolutely crazy for all things Will and Kate.

I myself am pretty excited for the nuptials. Mainly to see what Miss Middleton will be wearing down the aisle, but also for all of the other details of the day.

I do, however, think that some are taking the holiday (yes, it's literally a holiday in GB) a little too seriously. After a quick google search, here are some of the more ridiculous paraphernalia.

Who doesn't need a commemorative coin.....

...or a fine china place setting

What about the ever popular Pez dispenser?

This is getting out of hand...

And,  perhaps most notably..................

PSA For All Charleston Area Brides/Bridesmaids

We are in the throws of wedding season! I apparently overlooked this fact when I was making plans for dress alterations for the wedding I'm in this coming weekend.
When I walked into The Dressing Room (upper King St., near Cupcake) on Friday morning the girl at the front desk greeted me and then immediately informed me that they wouldn't be able to have anything ready until after April 26. FML.

I immediately launched into panic mode and luckily she took pity on me after I explained my situation. She asked the seamstress if there was any way she could have it done by Weds. TG she was feeling generous, because I'll be picking up my perfectly fitted dress on Weds. afternoon! PHEW! Crisis averted. Now I can stand next to Jaime on her big day feeling confident that there won't be any sort of wardrobe malfunctions.

Moral of the story is, if you have a wedding or bridesmaid dress to be altered, you must go to The Dressing Room (I had my wedding gown altered here too!). She does a great job and is really affordable.

Just for fun, here's  shot of the back of my wedding gown. I had the seamstress add the bow.

And now up close...

I love looking at our wedding pictures. It truly was the best day of my life. I'm just sad it's over!

Here is a photo of my lovely parents on our wedding day, as well. Today happens to be their 30 Year Anniversary. So, congratulations Mom & Dad! Here's to 30 more :)

Weekend Outlook

85 and sunny today? I'll take it!

I waited around for our new washer to arrive this morning and now I'm doing many loads of back-laundry. I'll be working all day tomorrow, but taking solace in the fact that I only have 3 days of work next week. YES.

Can't wait to drive home and see this beautiful skyline:

We have lots of events planned for Jaime's big day and I am so excited to hang with my gf's all weekend long! Jaime is getting married at our alma mater, St. Ursula Academy. Many of us haven't been back in a long time (graduation?), so it will be nice to visit the place that we spent so much time together.

So, does everyone/everything have it's own Wikipedia page now? I just found this about SUA.

I'm hoping to have one (or more) of these tonight.

Has anyone tried?! You all know how much I love Bethenny Frankel. I have a hard time believing she'd steer me wrong in this department. Girl knows her booze.

Say It Ain't So!

After I just posted about my love for the Today Show, my dear, darling, and adorable, cousin Sarah (also a devotee) tipped me off to THIS ARTICLE in the Daily Mail this morning.

Matt Lauer

I refuse to believe it. What am I going to watch in the mornings? It won't be the same if the show is anchored by Ann Curry.

Thank god the RHONY premieres tonight! Can't wait to see all of their crazy antics. I'll be back tomorrow for a recap!

WILW

Iced Coffee (especially from Starbucks)

Being a resident of such a beautiful city....

That this lady is getting MARRIED next weekend!

And lastly, The Today Show. I have been watching this every. single. day. for many, many years. My favorites include: Matt, Meredith and Natalie.
