No Dice

The cashier at Harris Teeter denied us the purchase of these delicious and refreshing BLL's due to me not having my ID today. We had just left the gym!

Uh, do I really look under 21?

(Yes, I'm sure he was just following protocol...)

But really? I'm older than Mark, who did have his ID. Come on peeps!

I'm just going to take it as a huge compliment that they must have thought I was his daughter/sister/young gf?!?

Rachel Zoe Collection

"I know you can be overwhelmed, and you can be underwhelmed, but can you ever just be whelmed?"

I love me some Rachel Zoe! And I am eagerly awaiting the new season of RZ Project. So, naturally I was ecstatic when I found out she'd be designing a line featured on my go-to online shopping site, Piperlime. (It can also be found at Neiman Marcus and other retailers)

Leopard blouse

Great modern trench.

Well, most of the pieces are cute, but for the price point? I would definitely rather have a Tucker blouse or Tibi dress.

Harris Teeter brand Banana Pudding ice cream (no picture of the actual flavor). Unreal! This is some of the most delicious ice cream I've had in a loooong time. Besides my beloved Graeter's. If you're ever in Cincinnati, you need to try their Black Raspberry Chip. It's life changing.

Also, according to the packaging a serving size is something like a 1/4 cup. Who only eats 1/4 cup of ice cream?! If that's you, kudos for the portion control. I won't divulge the estimate of how much I consume in one sitting. No need to embarrass one's self.

As my husband would say, "Get you some!"

Speaking of,

Someone thought they could buy my affection...

Luckily, it worked ;)

I've been loving the black cherries from HT and Whole Foods recently.

Does your dog have a bff? Cooper does (I realize the previous statement makes me a crazy dog lady). This is Hank. He and Cooper always have a wild time together. They get each and every toy out of his basket and leave them scattered throughout the house.

Did anyone see the RHONY reunion last night?

Completely ridiculous. I am embarrassed for every single one of them. Their behavior was just awful. Poor Andy Cohen had such a hard time controlling them. I really don't know if I can watch the show again.

Neil Patrick Harris was on Watch What Happens Live and suggested getting rid of all of them. Which is curious because the rumor is that's what going to happen next season- an entire new cast.

Hmm, I guess time will tell....

Big earrings don't make you look younger, darling.

I have to be honest. I usually find Sundays to be a little depressing. The thought of a long work week ahead is looming the entire day. Luckily, I now have 2 reasons to look forward to the end of the weekend: True Blood and Entourage.

Last night we finally got to see Eric and Sookie together! This union has been brewing since season 1. As exciting as it is, we all know that this could seal Eric's fate with the new vampire king, Bill. That witch Marnie really did a number on him. I can hardly wait for next Sunday's episode!

Also, last night was the premiere of the final season of Entourage. Vince is fresh out of rehab and ready to start on new projects. We found out E and Sloane called off their engagement (sad) and that Mrs. Ari has been seeing someone else during their separation (sadder). Turtle, played by Jerry Ferrara, has noticeably slimmed down in the off-season. And Drama is still Drama. I've been hearing/reading about a possible movie a la Sex & The City, which would be something to look forward to once this season wraps.

My sister and I have been enjoying the city during her visit- walking along the battery, margs at my fave, and enjoying delicious meals all around town.

Poogan's Porch & Grannymere

Last night we had dinner at Poogan's Porch and it was a-maz-ing!

I haven't been there in years and it was just as good, if not better, than I remember it. We started of with the gouda mac & cheese and of course, their signature biscuits and honey-butter. Those biscuits are second to none- literally the best thing I have eaten in ages!

For the main course, I had the buttermilk fried chicken with mashed potatoes, which was delicious. Mark had some huge seafood platter, which he finished in a nano second, and then moved on to finish off my plate and my sister's (shrimp and grits).

Eating the homemade biscuits reminded me of my Grannymere, who passed away a year ago this month. She loved to take home rolls or whatever bread was served for a little snack later on :)

Gran was a wonderful person, the center of our family, and to say that she is missed would be a vast understatement.

I hope everyone ha s a great weekend! I'll be spending the time relaxing with my sister. And speaking of which, it's her birthday!

Sister Visit!

Looking forward to my sister's visit later this week.

A few photos throughout the years....

Starting with the best.

How did our mom let this happen?!

Circa 1990. Between my 'shroom cut and her bull cut, we had some seriously rad 'dos.

See the girl on the t-shirt? That's me. With a permed 'shroom cut. Jammin' on an electric guitar. Doesn't get much cooler.

Done And Done

Not a great start to the weekend for JLo and Taylor Armstrong. Both have announced their respective decisions to divorce today.

Obviously one is a much larger celebrity than the other, but I feel that both were oddly mismatched.

Taylor Armstrong TV personality Taylor Armstrong (R) and husband Russell Armstrong attend the Annual STARS 2010 Benefit Gala at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on November 1, 2010 in Beverly Hills, California.

I have a feeling Taylor and Camille will be going boy-crazy on the upcoming season of RHOBH!

Practice What You Preach

LuAnn de Lesseps I am looking at you. 'Countess'.

Also, could you chill out with all the enormous Navajo jewelry?

In preparation for tonight's episode of RHONY I've been watching re-runs from the last couple of weeks. And I have to say these ladies have brought a whole new level of cattiness to the show. Especially Jill and LuAnn. Ugh. It doesn't surprise me at all that they're bff's now. Two peas in a pod they are.

Oh, I've seen a sneak peek of LuAnn's new music video and must say, I am tres embarrassed for her. Pretty hilarious stuff.

Is it bad that I'm actually looking forward to Watch What Happens Live more than the show itself?

Andy Cohen (Bravo)

Preppiest Schools Of 2011

And look who landed on the list....

My alma mater!

According to The Huffington Post, 'Referred to as "J. Crew U," this small school, located in Oxford, Ohio, was deemed a "public ivy" by Richard Moll in his 1985 book Public Ivies: A Guide to America's Best Public Undergraduate Colleges and Universities. The school's investment in maintaining on-campus traditions may date back to its age: It is the 10th oldest public university in the United States and the second oldest in Ohio. This sense of the old world creates an atmosphere that could potentially be cloistering. But, said one student, while some students might feel "overwhelmed by the conservative atmosphere" the "unique traditions and school spirit" creates a sense of community that is "hard not to love." Said another, "The majority of students look like they were pulled from the same brochure as their backdrop."'
And just for good measure, here are few throwbacks from college.
Our house senior year.
All the houses in Oxford had names. Ours, 'Girls Gone Wild'....yep, classy....

Have you ever tried these? If not, they are a must! Especially on the sweltering summer days/nights, which we experience quite a lot of here in the Lowcountry.

The recipe literally could not be easier.

One 12oz. can frozen limeade
12 oz. tequila (I like white tequila best)
12oz. Sprite/7up*
1 Corona Light*

I use the term recipe lightly. Because we basically just made it up as we went along. We used our discerning tastes as a guideline :)

*Actually, instead of Sprite we added 4 beers. And, of course, you don't have to use Corona Light, it's just my preference. This was the most common list of ingredients I found when googling.

Well, That Was Quick!

It was a quick, but event-filled trip to the California. Hopefully, the royal couple will venture to the opposite coast next time around.

Hard to say who was more start struck at the BAFTA's. Despite now being a Duchess, I'd imagine meeting all of those A-Listers would still be a little overhwelming.

This is quite possibly the longest short week ever. And I am ready for the weekend.

I'll be firing this bad boy up for some frozen concoctions.

Also, we're thinking about hitting up Juanita Greenberg's in Mt. P, rather than old faithful. The wait last week was OOC and I get impatient very quickly.

An Afternoon Stroll

On Monday we went for a walk along here:

And, wow was it packed!

Cooper was very tempted to jump in and cool off....
