Big Week

First things first. A few pics of my adorable little man.

One of a million licks a day fro Cooper. T finds it/him hilarious.

1st time at the polls!
Tanner woke up crying last night shortly after the results of the election were announced. He was mad it didn't go our way ;) Can you blame him?!

With that out of the way, we can now discuss other important event(s): Bravo's big premier week.

Oh, RHOBH, how I've missed you. I'm glad to see things haven't changed too much since last season. Lisa's still filthy rich, Kim's crazy as ever, Brandy is stirring up trouble, etc. etc. It'll be interesting to see what Yolanda brings to the mix. My initial reaction: I like her?

Of all the ladies in the RH franchise, I think it's safe to say this cast, by far, have the biggest egos. And Kenya, wow. Misery. She just seems completely terrible- can't imagine she makes many friends. Nothing amuses me more than Phaedra's foray into the funeral business. The scene at the animal hospital...I just can't....

And lastly, I have to ask, Andy Cohen, WTF?

LOLwork. Seriously?

Shameless Self-Promotion...*Condo For Sale In Downtown Charleston!*

You have been warned ;)

We are selling our condo in downtown Charleston (Hampton Park) and will be relocating to the Midwest. While we are super excited about starting this new chapter in our lives, we will be sad to part with the absolutely beautiful home we've lived in for the past 3 years. It is located in a wonderful neighborhood with all the conveniences of DT living. Read more about: the builder and surrounding area.

Stats:
built in 2009
dock/views of Ashley River at the end of street
3BR/2BA
~1125 sq. ft.
fully equipped kitchen
open floor plan
under unit storage
double porches
Pergo flooring
faux wood blinds
....and MUCH more!

We purchased the condo through the city of Charleston's first time homebuyer initiative. You can read more about the project here. This is truly the best deal to be found on the peninsula. Please feel free to email me if you or someone you know is interested in more details!

*Buyer must be first time homeowner (or hasn't owned in 3 years)*

This is a fantastic opportunity, as we have the only unit available in our community. Our family has LOVED both the house and neighborhood and are really going to miss them. But, our loss is your gain :)

Really Important Things To Discuss

Y'all. Have you been watching Honey Boo Boo? (And does this picture not say it all?!) I am appalled. I was seriously dry heaving last night while catching up on recent episodes. The breath game? Revolting. Spaghetti with butter and ketchup. EW. Just disgusting. There were so many things that made me cringe, I almost stopped watching.

Girl, get it together. Amanda Bynes is a disaster. I feel like she's been arrested 10 times in the last week.

Buuuuttt, not as big of a jack ass as this lady. We all believe you were sober during that interview..........

On a positive note, Jeff Lewis gets me through the week. While I find him absolutely hilarious, I would likely never be able to work for him.

So Long Summer

Even though we live at the beach, I have to be honest, summer is not my favorite time of year. At this point I've really had enough of the 95 degree + days and am ready for some 'cooler' temps. I am really looking forward to getting back in my Fall/Winter uni of leggings/skinny jeans and boots/flats.

Essie Stylenomics Fall 2012

Toothpick jean in pitch black wash

While I'd like to be decked out in JCrew day in and day out, that just is not realistic. Especially considering the amount of spit-up that comes my way.

I did try these on the other day and was pleasantly surprised as to how well they fit (actually, ON had several really great quality pieces I plan on snagging!). And at $29, I can afford more than one pair. Note to the tall ladies: definitely order the special size online- the regulars were several inches above my ankles (I am 5'10").

Also, candles. Specifically Bath & Body Works. I have yet to find another that can even come close to these babies.

One cannot ignore the political ads and campaigns that are ramping up for November's big election.

I have to share this photo of Paul Ryan at his (and mine!) alma mater, Miami University. He visited the campus a few weeks ago and I am so jealous of all the students who got to hear him speak. Proud alumni!

Finally, I read that Giuliana & Bill Rancic's surrogate delivered their baby!!

I love hearing happy news in the morning!

Busy, Busy

Life has been quite busy as of late.

We made our first trip home with Tanner last weekend and I must say I was extremely impressed with his travelling capacity. It was SO much fun introducing our baby to all of our friends and family!

On Saturday, Grandma, Grandpa, and Aunt Alex graciously volunteered to babysit while Mom & Dad spent the evening celebrating Jen & Matt's nuptials.

And because I think my child is the most adorable thing in the entire world......

He is going to hate me later for that comb-over.

Also, I've been glued to the tube watching all of the Olympic games. Favorite sport? Gymnastics.

My sister and I used to make up routines and dance around the basement when we were little. Clearly, neither of us were cut out for the sport considering we're both 5'10". Oh well....

Did these ladies snag the Kardashian's makeup artist for the big event? Because they looked flawless. Seriously.

Greek Chicken Salad & Pasta

I've been obsessed with this salad since Tanner was born when we got some items to go from Papa Zuzu's in Mt. P. Of course, I made some changes to suit our preferences but promise that it doesn't disappoint! We eat it at least once a week. When I put it together, I also boil whole wheat rotini and make a pasta salad for Mark to eat for lunch during the week.

What's in it?

Spring mix + a few handfuls of fresh spinach
Kalamata olives
Feta cheese
Onions
Pepperoncinis
Grilled chicken breast

Quick, easy, healthy (relatively) = my cup of tea.

Expanding My Horizons

It's a red letter day, as: A) I'm up, eaten my breakfast, and almost had entire an entire cup of coffee and Tanner is still sleeping. B) I have time to myself C) Mom is coming in tonight to stay with us for the weekend!

I'm patting myself on the back for moving beyond Bravo for a few precious hours of my week.

My obsession as of late:

My Big Fat American Gypsy Wedding
This show is almost too much. Almost. These girls (and they are girls, not ladies) are fascinating. They do really smart stuff like brushing their teeth with household bleach and spend mucho $$$ on dresses, parties and hair gel. You know, all the important stuff in life.

Also making the cut: True Blood, Game Of Thrones re-runs and Don't Be Tardy For The Wedding (ok, one Bravo show).

We also tune in to these shows every day.

God bless Ina Garten. I love her collection of button down shirts, gorg Hamptons estate, and devotion to Jeffrey.

*Just because I watch this does not mean I've taken up cooking. Sorry, Mark!

Mildly entertaining. Wendy is pretty outrageous and likes to call people on their stuff. Controversy/drama? I'll watch it.

What I've Been Up To

Well, things have been quite busy the past two weeks in the McCall household! Lots of new and exciting things going on. Namely this one:

My parents left Charleston to head back home. Their help was invaluable and we were just a tad nervous to be on our own. But so far, so good!

Mom and I did a little shopping and picked up some new items for summer and any/every baby item that we needed (THANK YOU mom & dad!).

Dad and Mark overhauled our guest bedroom. Much lighter and brighter. Anyone who's coming to visit, your new digs await!

Hil-arious! If you love Bravo like I do, it's a must read.

Anyone catch the RH New York premiere last night? I like Aviva and think Carol kind of seems like a dud. I did get the sense that LuAnn may be getting the 'Jill Zarin treatment' this season (which I love!)- it's time she get off her high horse. Can't wait for more!
