Restaurant Week
Friday night Mark and I decided to take advantage of Charleston Restaurant Week. This was the first visit for both of us to 82 Queen.
We sat outside in their courtyard area which is absolutely adorable. It was the perfect weather for outdoor dining. Finally some slightly cooler temps! I had their famous She Crab Soup, Chicken and Waffles, and Key Lime Pie. Mark had Calamari, Jambalaya, and a Pecan Mocha Torte. Every single thing we ordered was delicious! We'll definitely be making more trips here.
So, I attempted to capture my outfit for the evening. But Cooper insisted on being part of the photo shoot, as well.
I wore my new J Brand skinnies and Francesca's top with a Banana clutch that I've had for years. The outfit worked out perfectly, as there was no hint of my bulging belly after eating that HUGE meal.
Devil dog.
Then yesterday, we traveled to Charlotte for a wedding.
Me, the Groom, and Jill
After getting stuck in traffic on the way there and on the way back, we are exhausted. The weekends always go by so quickly. I'll be on the couch for the rest of the afternoon/evening. Tonight is the season finale of True Blood and the series finale of Entourage. Eeeeek!

(Last) Weekend Jaunt
Obviously, I've been a bad, lazzzzzzy blogger this week.
Do these pics make up for my absence?
Mark in Asheville with the pups
Mark's parents just got two white lab puppies, who tagged along on out trip to Seabrook...
Couldn't leave Coop at home!

Mexican night
Magazine, puppies, and the beach.
AND I have even more pictures to come from Charleston Restaurant Week! I also attempted to capture my ensemb for the evening. The resulting images are pretty hilar.

WILW
Does anyone else's dog sleep like this? It's the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen.
Whoa, blurry picture! I hope my concoction turns out to taste better than it looks. On the menu for tonight: BBQ Chicken with Mac & Cheese. Not healthy. But hopefully good fuel for our kickball game.
You must try this gum! It is seriously amazing. Especially the key lime pie. This definitely helps to ward off the urge to snack in the afternoons.

Weekend In Pictures
Started the weekend off here:

Worked all day Saturday.
Acquired this on Sunday:
I'm going to be stylin' cruising around the DT streets. Perhaps I'll gain a new perspective as a cyclist. I currently loathe all the bike-riders in my 'hood. Especially those that bolt right out in front of my car and then give me the stink eye. This lady does not need a lawsuit.
Sunset at Shem Creek on Sunday
Yowza. Red's was slammed when we arrived. I tried to make the best of our 1.5 hour wait by checking out all of the boats passing by. I don't know if you can see in the picture, but this couple had SEVEN yellow labs on their little boat. Seven. It was OOC. Bless their hearts for housing all those pups. Wish I could have more.
Speaking of,
Look at that face! What a doll baby! Cooper was tuckered out after the flurry of visitors and friends this weekend. He crashed on the couch all day yesterday.

Animal Haters
I just don't understand why some people have pets.
As we were driving home from kickball tonight, we saw a dog wandering down the middle of the street(Downtown) with a huge rope around his neck, dragging about 10 feet behind him. Poor guy was a mess- dirty, mangy, disoriented, and clearly scared of humans. Mark was trying to coax him over to see if he had tags, when all of the sudden this man whips around the corner and starts threatening us. With a pitch fork (seriously). He said it was his dog and we were on his property? Hmm. I dont think so. After a few exchanges we decided to drive away, but I felt so terrible for the pup.
I have seen this numerous times in the area where we live and it makes me so mad! Much worse than tonight, actually.
One of the dogs we found wandering the DT streets:
Luckily, he was microchipped.
One of our old 'neighbors' kept his dog chained to a staircase outside. Another 'neighbor' down the street let his kids beat their dog with metal chains. In the front yard.
What is wrong with people?
I completely understand if one is not an animal person. I know many that aren't. But why get a pet if you're not going to love and care for it? That's all they really want.
I gave Cooper lots of hugs and kisses when we got home. I know he appreciates it :)

Sweet Moments
I texted this picture to Mark at 12:30 this afternoon to let him know that I had demolished an entire bag of these addicting treats. It was a shameful/satisfying moment. Maybe next time I'll be able to exercise some portion control?

Obvs, that's not Cooper, but this is all he's been doing for the past week or so. The scratching and licking is driving me insane! No, he doesn't have fleas, but the vet does think our poor pooch has allergies. She suggested giving him Benadryl, but that isn't doing the trick either. Any pet owners have a better idea?!
