Oscars 2011

Mila Kunis Elie Saab 2011 Academy Awards Oscars red carpet dress
BEST

Mila Kunis looked absolutely gorgeous- from the dress, to the hair, to her hot bod!

WORST

To be fair, I don't think she looked that bad. I really like her and she normally makes pretty classic choices. But, this ensemble was awkward. The neckline + necklace = wrong.

Overall, I think everyone looked good. There were no major disasters, yet no one knocked my socks off. Anne Hathaway did a great job hosting and she looked fabulous doing it.

Really, Charlie?

As if Charlie Sheen hasn't embarrassed himself enough in the past few months, he went on the Today Show this morning to discuss all of the recent events in his life. See clip of the interview here. One word can sum up the entire interview: DENIAL. I would have more sympathy for his situation if he wasn't such an utter jack-hole (thank you, Andy Cohen!). The kicker was after all of the absolutely deluded things he had to say, he maintains that 1) CBS owes HIM an apology and 2) he deserves a raise. Because the $2 million per episode that he's currently receiving isn't enough to 'support his family'.

Celebrity Saturday

THEN.

As of Late.

Jessica Simpson.
I realize she hasn't looked like this 1st picture in a LONG time, but I maintain hope that she's going to get out of the rut she's been in for the past few months...er, years. I especially loved her during the Newlyweds days. Her and Nick were so adorable together. I'm still mourning the end of their marriage. What does her current fiance even do?

Giuliana & Bill

LOVE them! Seriously, could they be any cooler? If we met in real life, we'd totally be friends. Until then, I'll continue to tune in to their reality show and keep my fingers crossed that she'll be able to get pregnant soon. Is anyone else on constant bump watch via ENews?

Lohan

Lindsay Lohan is an absolute disaster. Hot mess. Train wreck. Call it what you will. But, she is out of control and needs a sobering influence (literally). Fast. She hasn't done anything decent since...well, The Parent Trap. Can that even be considered the peak of her career?

In The Dark

Am I the only one who didn't know that Saks OFF 5TH is coming to Charleston? While, I'm thrilled about this news, I can hardly wait until the Fall to get my hands on some discounted designer duds!

I had mixed feelings when I found out the original Saks was closing downtown. I was sad, but knew there were better (cheaper!) times on the horizon. Forever 21 brings a lot to the table. I love being able to drop in and pick an affordable top or sundress for the weekend. The quality isn't always the best, but for trendy items that you may only wear a few times, you can't beat it!

Some of my Forever 21 items from the archives, circa 2005. Please excuse my over-highlighted hair.

Spring Break, Senior Year

Junior Year

Summer of Graduation, Chicago

Apparently, large belts and big necklaces were in back then? I must have been spending lots of time poolside. I haven't seen a tan like that in years. Ah, to be young again....

Reasons I'm Looking Forward To Warmer Weather...

I think the picture really says it all.

Not that I haven't been drinking these during the winter months....they just taste better in the summer time, you know? Conveniently enough, we received a Jimmy Buffet Margaritaville machine as a wedding gift. Coincidence?

The return of True Blood

There are so many things I love about the show. I wonder if Sookie will finally leave Bill this season and test out the waters with the elusive Eric Northman?

Her quick wit, sarcasm, and sense of humor are second to none.

I'm interested to see what the new woman brings to the table. And I love to hate Kelly Bensimon and her crazy antics.

Rebecca Taylor "Simply Shirt" Silk Dress

What's not to love! This would be a perfect transitional item. Easter, perhaps?
Finally, getting to run the Cooper River Bridge in the mornings again!

Entering The Blogosphere

After much thought (and frankly, some extra time on my hands), I've decided to start this blog to document my life living in Charleston with my husband, Mark, and our beloved Bernese Mountain Dog, Cooper. We were married in November at The Seabrook Island Club, just outside the city.

Originally hailing from Cincinnati, Ohio, I moved to Charleston in the Summer of 2007 with two of my girlfriends from home. We were all ready for a change of scenery after graduating from college the previous summer and beginning our transition into the "real world." Who would have guessed that one of the southern boys living below us in the duplex we shared would eventually become my husband? Certainly not me! I hope you enjoy my random musings on celebrities, reality television, fashion, food, and our adventures in the city we've made our home!
