Great Expectations

Once the baby arrives, I plan on snapping back into shape right away.

That's how it works, no?

I kid, I kid.

But seriously though. Temperatures are holding steady in the 80's with no signs of slowing down and I will need some new warm weather attire. Those adorable pink shorts? Elastic waistband! I'm ahead of the game already.

Other items I've been checking out that I hope will be equally as figure-friendly?

Flowy maxi's and forgiving tops....

And, of course, my favorite summer staple, despite the blazing heat:

The perfect pair of white jeans. These will be my motivation, if nothing else.

Yes, we live at the beach. But I can't even wrap my head around the thought of bikini-season. I've been purposefully avoiding that section at all stores. I've chosen to focus more on cover-ups....

Don't think I've left my little man out of all my shopping adventures. Tanner has been cleaning up in the clothes department! One of my favorite purchases:

A total necessity for all infants.

Easter Weekend

Pardon my Jessica Simpson-esque appearance. Apparently, that dress was not as flattering as I thought. It looked good on the mannequin?

Candy is BACK! Fingers crossed for portion control today....

A GREAT Weekend!

This weekend we traveled home to Cincinnati for not one but two fabulous showers hosted by my aunt and sister and girlfriends, Jaime & Amy! It was so nice to see all of our friends and family and have them share in the excitement of our impending arrival:

Needless to say everyone was beyond generous and we are incredibly grateful for it all. We feel so lucky to be surrounded by such amazing people.

*Of all the unnecessary and ridiculous things my OCD self packed for our trip, the one (extremely important) item I forgot was my camera. So, until I get some real photos these iphone pics will have to suffice!

It's hard to imagine that the next time we see everyone there will be a baby in tow!

A HUGE thank you to our shower hostesses, who put so much time and effort into making the day special for us- every single detail was just perfect! And to our parents, for all that they've done for us and baby Tanner, as well as our sweet angel dog, Cooper, who I feel certain will make an excellent big brother :)

Recently

Who knew blogging would take so much energy/motivation? Kidding!

Kind of.

Here are some things that have been occupying my time:

via

Jeff Lewis's new show, Interior Therapy

via

Making an effort to maintain some (pathetic) level of fitness

Then cancelling out all of the exercise by eating several bowls of this

via

or the occasional frosty

via
On top of all that I've been reading lots of baby stuff, complaining to Mark, and searching for adorable outfits for my baby boy (I'm really busy, I know). Also, I watched a yoga DVD tonight. That's right- no performing poses and whatnot. I have to say the whole thing was pretty slow. Not sure this will be able to hold my attention. However, I'll most likely be giving it a try because I can tell my gym days are numbered.

While I've had a pretty easy pregnancy thus far, I am definitely starting to slow down.

29 weeks

I had to make a few maternity purchases this past weekend because apparently, Charleston is skipping spring and going straight into summer. Some solid finds at Target which I'd showcase but their website crashes my comp every time I try to access it.

Overall, I'm still feeling really good! I cannot believe we only have 2 months to go!

Scatterbrained

I am so so excited to be headed home in a few weeks to celebrate the arrival of baby McCall with our friends and family!

In LOVE with this invite

Can't wait to see of my gf's

Why do I only want Chick Fil A on Sundays? Obsessed with their lemonade.

I'm already annoyed with these fools.
(but will continue to watch)

How unbelievably pretentious is Heather?

I'm sure you all have heard by now that Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minillo are expecting a baby. While I think it's great and am happy for them, I can't help but wish it were Jessica? I'm still nostalgic for the Newlyweds days.

Everything is coming together in the baby's room and I'm really happy with how it all looks so far.

WILW

It's been ages since I've done one of these posts.

only $79!
(*Minus the shoes. The dress would pair much better with metallic wedges or something of the sort)

LOVING this show!

The anchor conveys the general theme of the room.....I'm really looking forward to receiving the baby's bedding, glider, and other exciting items for his nursery!

Currently making my way through this book. Pretty interesting and amazing stuff. Recommended to us by moms in the know ;) Anyone have experience with this?

Let's be clear, I'm not actually 'loving' this one. But it does interest me and I'm a sucker for anything Bravo-related. According to various media outlets, Real Housewives Of Miami has been renewed for a 2nd season. Seriously? I kind of thought it was a snoozefest.

MINUS....

Oh. Yes. Mama Elsa. The ONLY reason I may be watching next season.

Weekly Happenings

Last weekend, ~24 weeks

I consume ridiculous amounts of candy. This week, I decided to go without.

Latest guilty pleasure...I know it's not even Valentine's Day yet but I love me some Cadbury eggs. Yes, they are only in (a very few) select stores. If you want to know where to find them in the Charleston area, let me know. I've got the hook-up ;)

HA! My candy break lasted for about 6 hours. I figure with Lent right around the corner and my tradition of giving it up during that time, why deprive myself now?! So, I decided to try and simply reduce the amount I eat each day. This is going well.

Also....

The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 7 with Heather Dubrow

The crazy ladies of the OC are back and it looks like they'll be bringing the drama this season. Yet again. The new cast member, Heather, seems tame, which I'm sure she's not. Otherwise, why have her on the show?

Did anyone catch the RHOBH reunion pt. 2? Not as boring as the first part. I have to say that Brandi Glanville entertains me. My mom told me that Camille isn't coming back next season. Eh, either way I'll still watch every week (and all of the re-runs).

More On Baby McCall!

First of all, thank you SO much for all of you kind words! We are absolutely thrilled to be starting this new chapter in our lives!

Can I just say how grateful I am (among many other things) for technology? Our families and friends are scattered all over the country and although we wish they could be here with us during this exciting time, iPhone pics, emails, texts, blog posts, etc. make it possible to keep everyone up to date.

Without further ado, here are all of the stats! And, of course, some obligatory bump shots......

~8/9 weeks

~19 weeks

Last night before dinner!
~22 weeks

~22 weeks

How far along: about 22 weeks
Size of baby: I'd guess a little over a 1lb. and about 10 inches (according to babycenter.com)
Gender: Yes, it's a BOY!
Maternity Clothes: I just ordered several pieces from the Gap and Old Navy- wayyyy more comfortable than squeezing into my regular stuff. And I'm sure everyone appreciates the change up from the ol' black leggings + tunic/dress/sweater.
Symptoms: I've been extremely fortunate thus far in my pregnncy and overall have been feeling pretty great. I've definitely been more exhausted than usual, but aside from that and some minor growing and stretching pains, I can't complain!
Movement: Yes! He has been really active lately, which I love! It's so comforting to feel him moving around in there.
Cravings: Nothing too crazy. I'm loving all of the Valentine's Day candy thats out right now, but I have always had a big sweet tooth. Oh, and Wendy's frosty's.
Sleep: Changes daily. Sometimes I'll be up nearly all night and just cannot fall asleep. But mostly I just wake up a few times to use the restroom.

We've started work on the baby's nursery, gotten a few of the bigger furniture pieces, and purchased some adorable duds, but there is still a lot to do- registry, child care options, pediatricians, classes, the list goes on and on! If any of you Charleston moms have reccomendations on the aforementioned items, please help a girl out!
