Great Weekend

What a beautiful weekend it was here in Charleston! The city was absolutely packed with people in town for the Bridge Run and Family Circle Cup.

We had a great dinner at the Boulevard Diner in James Island on Friday night. I ordered the shrimp and grits, which was excellent, and Mark had the grouper sandwich. I wasn't wowed by his entree but easily overlooked it, as I had the dessert case directly in my line of sight. The waitress was feeling generous and gave us extra large slices. No complaints about that. My Hummingbird Cake was delish, as usual! We've been to nearly all of Sal Parco's restaurants, and I have to say that the Mustard Seed (Long Point Grill, a close second) remains my favorite.

We woke up bright and early on Saturday morning to participate in the CRBR. It was absolutely perfect weather and I was thrilled to finish the race just at the 60 minute mark! 

After the race we headed home to shower and celebrate our accomplishment with our friends in Mt. P. While I got ready, Mark and his parents went out and got us a new one of these:

No, ours isn't nearly as fancy. But, it's brand new and works! Which is all I really cared about. I'm pretty excited to resume my normal laundry routine. Who knew an appliance could be so exciting?

After a few games of cornhole and some post-race libations, we came back downtown for dinner at Taco Boy (of course!).

***I received numerous texts, facebook messages, etc. expressing concern over breaking our Friday night Taco Boy tradition. I assured everyone that we'd manage to fit it into our busy weekend and indeed it all worked out.
